Tricia is passionate about literacy and loves to read. She is the Director of the Learning Resource Center at J.E. Cosgriff Memorial where she manages the Carson Smith Scholarship Program, identifies and teaches students with disabilities and oversees assessments. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Consumer Studies and Economics from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education from Utah State University. She has worked as a resource teacher for the past 13 years specializing in reading and writing. During this time Tricia received certifications in Early Steps, Higher Steps and Wilson Reading Systems level I and II, and is a certified Wilson Dyslexia Therapist. She is also trained in Fundations, Just Words, Next Steps, Step Up to Writing and Words Their Way. Tricia is in the process of completing a Special Education Evaluator Endorsement through Midwestern State University. This endorsement will give her the credentials to administer and interpret standardized cognitive and achievement tests in order to identify students with learning disabilities.
